Q: Why should we consider using a 'copy service' like CMIS?
A: First of all, CMIS is not a copy service. The services we provide encompass more than just copying and mailing medical records! Since this is our core business, we manage this portion of your HIM department as a business with the HIM departments seeing greater returns and reduced expenses.
Q: How can I be sure the person working from CMIS knows what they are doing? Requests for records can get very complicated!
A: Our employees are trained in our offices and at the client locations by our own supervisors and managers. Additionally, all employees must pass yearly tests that measure their understanding of state and federal laws. Since we are members of Association of Health Information Outsourcing Services (AHIOS) eligible employees are also Certified Release of Information Specialists (CRIS) and have received this designation through testing, work experience and training.
